Frequently asked questions
What is the CEFR English level scale?
The Common European Framework of Reference for Languages describes six broad levels: A1 and A2 (basic users), B1 and B2 (independent users), and C1 and C2 (proficient users).
Is this English test completely free?
Yes. The assessment runs in your browser without a paid API, account, or dedicated server. Browser speech recognition and speech synthesis availability can vary.
Can this test measure my real speaking and listening ability?
It provides a useful practice estimate, but it cannot fully measure real-world conversation, accent, pronunciation, or listening across different speakers. Official exams use more comprehensive assessment methods.
Are my answers stored or sent to a server?
This tool processes your answers locally and does not intentionally transmit or save them to a test database. Downloaded reports are saved only when you request them.
How can I improve my English level?
Practice a little every day, read material suited to your level, listen to natural English, write short paragraphs, and speak regularly. Focus first on your lowest-scoring skill.
