What does this tool remove?

This tool creates a newly encoded raster image using your browser's Canvas API. For supported input and output formats, this typically excludes the original EXIF, GPS, XMP, and IPTC metadata blocks rather than copying the original file unchanged.

This is not a forensic metadata sanitizer. The tool does not verify every metadata block in every output file. Browser-supported decoding, color profiles, animation, transparency, and format-specific data can vary. For sensitive files or strict compliance, verify the output with a dedicated metadata inspection tool before sharing it.

Visible watermarks, logos, and text embedded in the pixels are not removed. Animated images may become a single frame. JPEG output does not preserve transparency.
