What is a sitemap extractor?

A sitemap extractor reads XML sitemap files and collects the URLs listed inside them. This helps site owners audit sitemap coverage and prepare URL lists for SEO workflows.

Why can't a remote sitemap load?

Browsers restrict cross-origin requests unless the target server allows them through CORS headers. Upload the sitemap file locally when direct fetching is blocked. No proxy or server-side bypass is included.

Does the tool check whether pages are indexed by Google?

No. It extracts sitemap information. Indexing status requires a separate authorized source, such as Google Search Console.

Can I extract a sitemap index?

Yes. Sitemap indexes are supported. When nested discovery is enabled, the tool attempts to fetch child sitemaps up to the selected file limit and browser-access restrictions.

Are my sitemap files uploaded to Ghostools?

Local files are parsed in your browser. For remote sitemaps, your browser requests the specified URL directly. The tool does not upload local files to a Ghostools server.
